I don't want to talk about who I was Google Image Searching, or why (which is to say: Christian Kane, due to an unexpected description of his hair color late in a rather brilliant schoolboy!jared bdsm j2 epic) but I think this might be the awesomest webpage I have seen in a very. long. time.

Celebrity Jedi Chefs

A few egregiously hotlinked favorites. Like. Nine. )

Time for a quick meme between running errands and slogging off to the library to do a big heap of reading. Gacked from [livejournal.com profile] fairmer:

Look at your LJ "interests" list. If you have less than 50 interests, pick every fifth one. If you have between 50 and 75 interests, pick every seventh one. If you have over 75 interests, pick every tenth one. If you have fewer than ten, pick all of 'em. List them on your LJ, and tell everyone exactly what it is about these things that interests you so much:

91 interests=short attention span )

My friend [livejournal.com profile] boundbyspells, who is new to fic but not, by a long stretch, to writing, has just put up her first bit of Firefly fic, Zodiacal Light. She even listed me as a beta, though I'm pretty sure my critical contribution consisted of "Squee!" so I think she's just being nice. *g*

It's Kaylee/River, later on, in the quiet night. River's changed and Kaylee's, well, Kaylee's come a long way too.

Now go read!

I wrote a thing. Not a Stargate thing (not yet, anyway).

River Dancing (22k) is a still-pre-slash sequel to La Mal Idee.

I'm using up all my puns in the titles, I swear.

ETA: What it actually is is a Firefly thing. Since I wasn't paying enough attention to specify, earlier.

surprise!

I wrote a thing. A Firefly thing.

La Mal Idee (11k)

With apologies for the bad French grammar.
River says, shh, it's a pun, you'll frighten it.

River gets a wonderful, awful idea, and Mal's caught square in the middle of it.

I've been sitting at my desk lip-synching to Cry, Cry, Cry all day. I usually do it a little bit anyway, but today's particularly bad because I finished watching the run of Firefly last night with [livejournal.com profile] iuliamentis and [livejournal.com profile] helaaspindakaas and now I can't help thinking what great vids these songs would make. To say nothing of the plot bunnies.

Really, better to say nothing of the plot bunnies...

Also, I have this feeling that sitting at my desk lip-synching with my headphones makes me look at least mildly deranged, and it's high time I developed a library-appropriate visible eccentricity. Better that than an Odd Smell, anyway.

And tonight, through the great goodness of [livejournal.com profile] splash_the_cat: Season one of Stargate! Wheeeeeee!

1) Stevie scored a goal! Sure, it was an empty-netter, but Stevie scored a goal! Back with the Red Wings at age 37 after a knee surgery no pro athelete has ever undergone, intended to let him simply walk without pain, an actual return to hockey totally undreamt of... ten games back, and Stevie has scored a goal!

2) My Due South tapes showed up from amazon.ca! Watched the Pilot today, before going over to #2 brother's apartment to hang with the semi-local extent of the fam (Mom, Dad, brothers #3 and #4), and will watch Mountie on the Bounty later tonight, which means that I can definitively state... Lessee. Got the Fraser/RayK "Snug" photo manip from Theban Band on 13 January 2002. Actually saw an episode of the show, today, 22 March 2003. One year, two months, nine days elapsed time between falling in love with the characters and actually seeing them in action - and that's assuming that I actually watch an ep with RayK in the next four hours. Hunh.

3) Took #4 brother every Bujold book from Cetaganda forward, so he can get on with the reading without being at the mercy of their hick library system or his own jobless-teenager budget.

And everything else, from bombs and helicopter crashes to Ozzie in a Blues uniform... we're not talking about it, okay? Sticking with the good stuff.
