I was in a good mood about ten minutes ago, before I saw the latest entries from [livejournal.com profile] fairestcat and [livejournal.com profile] mamadeb and [livejournal.com profile] marnan on my flist, and clicked through to [livejournal.com profile] penknife's entry on how The State of Virginia is taking away gay partner rights. That means no power of attorney, no wills, no jointly owned homes or shared legal custody. Nothing that confers anything the Virginia judiciary chooses to construe as "benefits of marriage."

So now I just want to get in my car and drive all night and hold a sign. Or possibly set something on fire. Or something, because I can't bear to just sit here and let that stand.


Prior to ten minutes ago, on the other hand, I was a) off work early due to doctor's appointment (which was actually a trip to the Staff Assistance people, i.e. therapy, which was really cool - I blushed and stammered a bit at one point and then said "I spend most of my free time reading and writing gay porn and hanging out with women who do the same," and she just said, "Okay," like, well, like okay. Which was cool.) and had just made the amazing discovery that

Jello is once again producing Pudding Pops! Jello Pudding Pops!

They've been slightly reformatted - they're now skinny things like creamsicles or regular fruit pops - but! Jello! Pudding! Pops! I was so excited that when I found myself in the checkout behind my former boss from my third-shift job, and he asked how things were going, I just held up the box and pointed with a big goofy smile on my face. Jello Pudding Pops!

And now I'm just going to sit here, and try to remember which one of my siblings doesn't like anise-flavored Pizzelles, and eat pudding pops and read marooned-in-time MFU fic until I can think of something constructive to do about the rest of it.
