Dude, therapy is the coolest thing ever.
A) It's apparently still free,
B) I got an evening appointment for next time, so I will actually get to eat lunch on my lunch break all five days next week, no bus-car-car-bus adventures required, and
C) K cracks my shit up.
Last week, I gave K a couple of essays by Jane Mortimer about why people write fanfiction, and specifically erotic fanfiction, and specifically slash, along with one story I'd written ("Prolix," because I like it enough that I didn't have to worry about what she thought of it, writing-wise). Today she said she'd had a chance to read them and "It all makes a lot more sense now." She also remarked that she noticed I'd given her a fairly tame story - "You're sort of breaking me in."
And then we just talked about other stuff. My weekend, family, the usual.
We were talking about my (lack of) parental pressure to date, and I was explaining how my mom interpreted brother #4's non-dating as a sign that he was going to join the priesthood.
K: "She doesn't expect something like that from you?"
Me: "Well, not after I told her about the gay porn, no."
K: (laughing) "Okay, yeah, that was probably a tip-off."
Me: "They got me to all-girls high school and that was about it."
K: "But you have that now, don't you, with fans? That community of women?"
Me: (boggling) "Well, it's a little--"
K: "Well, of course the focus is different, not so much prayers--"
Me: (am I high? is this happening?) "Well, we do have our devotions."
K: "Just, not what you'd find in any Catholic service."
Me: "God, we should have a prayerbook..."
So, dude, she turned out fine, even if, every time I go in there, I have to restrain the impulse to play with the toys. It was crayons, today - she had a 64 Box open on the coffee table and the crayons were smooshed all unevenly in the little dividers, and I wanted to fix them. And smell them. A bit.
