justacat describes as long and smutty and good anytime after ten pm. It'll only end in sleep deprivation.

brenk's Matters in Hand is the first story I've read in a while that had me cheerfully staying up past my bedtime and only wishing there were more, by the time I got to the end. It's written in first person, almost stream of consciousness (but not, y'know, like James Joyce - stream of consciousness in a fun, porny way), and the voices are so conversational and engaging that I was sucked in by the first line.

And did I mention the porn? OMG. This story reminds me a bit of How Ray Got His Groove Back, or AuKestrel's Waiting To Fall, in that the plot--the development of the relationship--takes place largely in and around sex scenes. It's the definition of non-gratuitous sex, and also hot.

The men are men, the women are... around, and did I mention the smut? Guh.

And now for the less-exciting going-to-work-on-five-hours-sleep segment of the day.
