I just actually read, cover to cover, Antoine de Saint-Exupery's The Little Prince for the first time. There was a cartoon when I was a kid, so I always had the general impression that I knew what it was about: Little Prince, little planet, rose, bell jar, tiny volcanos.
Apparently the cartoon left out the a) tragic love with the pilot who narrates the story, and b) DEATH. French people are weird, man.
And, in news that will likely surprise no one, now I want to write slash based on this story. Not about these characters, because their love is - no really - so pure, but... it's a whole book about very simply stated and incredibly intense loves, and the tragedy of a lonely blond. So I think we can all see where my brain goes from there.
