If you didn't know about it, or weren't prepared, it could hurt you in different ways.

...which is to say, just got home from Toronto... I saw it twice, because, well, because the credits were rolling and my voice wasn't due to drop back into its natural register for another half hour and I said, "Seriously, can we see it again?" and [livejournal.com profile] iuliamentis said, "Yes." So we did. Having to get more money out to buy lunch today and pay the bridge toll was completely worth it.

Wilby Wonderful just about killed me, in multiple different ways in rapid succession. I walked out exhausted and weak with love for it and speaking so that only dogs could hear me. The movie probably ought to have a warning label. And, though I realize I wasn't in the best frame of mind to judge objectively, I think that it was actually rather good.

There were other good things about the trip--the drive was gorgeous both ways, our hotel was quirky and nice, I got a new (to me, of course, not to the world) Stan Rogers CD and two more books of Canadianness (one about the author's adventures hitchhiking across Canada for years on end, the other Souvenir of Canada 2 by Douglas Copeland), our cable selections in the hotel included a channel showing Sex Tips for Girls at midnight, but mainly...

Oh my god, if you possibly can, go see Wilby Wonderful. And if you want to hear exactly why you should, hit me up. I will happily gush for as long as you'll let me.

Of course, while I was in Toronto, because I am the worst sister in the world, I was not in Indiana welcoming [livejournal.com profile] daveamongus home. And now that he knows why, he will probably never forgive me. Sorry, Dave, but welcome home!
