Being an English major must be kind of like being a conspiracy theorist. Everything means something. Which explains why Mel Gibson's character in that one movie liked Catcher in the Rye so much and why, in high school at least, I hated it with such an abiding passion.

Which is to say: note please, if listening to "Mosh," and thinking that it's awfully Anybody-but-Bush and Em has, for whatever reasons of his own, claimed to be undecided as to how he'll cast his vote...

The line "Carry on, gimme hope," appears in the chorus, which means it's repeated more than anything else in the song, including the phrase "fuck Bush." And in Em's Michigan idiolect of English, as in mine, "carry" and "Kerry" are phonetically indistinguishable. The question boils down to whether you think Em's smart and subtle enough to make his point that way, and I know I do.
