and now for something completely different.
I haven't mentioned this to many people, because I am sort of sheepish about the entire enterprise, but: for the first time ever in my life, I'm dieting. And as of this morning (unless, as I occasionally imagine, the scale is lying to me) I've lost 20 pounds since August.

I'm doing a very ad hoc, low-key interpretation of The Hacker's Diet, and have to thank whoever it was on my flist who mentioned it about two years ago. I read the whole e-book in August and got (kind of insanely) excited about the whole thing (weight loss through CHARTS AND GRAPHS? WOOOO!) and for a month or so it was doubling as a diet and a hobby. Believe me, you're all really glad I didn't start talking about it then. *g*
