God bless public libraries.
I mean, I'm not even in the right *country* to get a library card here, and I can still google a zip code and check the location of the hostel in Toronto and, um, drool at all those fics being recced on
ds_flashback that I can't actually read because it won't let me save to disk and I don't think I can actually finish any of those stories in 30 minutes under the watchful eye of a Canadian reference librarian...
Anyway. Still not dead, but not ready to recap either. Today's goal is to find a hospitable bit of Lake Superior to stick my feet into (I know, I know, it's going to be really cold - I'm just going for 'not marshy' after my Lake Huron experience), and stay out of the hostel as much as possible (dude, even the payphone has an ashtray - and having my own personal bathtub is kind of neat, in a kooky way, but sadly lacking in insanely attractive and poorly scripted day laborers portrayed by Callum Keith Rennie).
So. Off to the lake, then.
