Also, I have ... frowny, skeptical thoughts about this characterization of angels. I mean, sure, Kripke should go right ahead and blaze his own Kripkean trail in terms of What Angels Are Actually Like, but--there would have been interesting and theologically sound ways to write Uriel (for instance, instead of this "mud monkey" thing that MAKES BLOOD AND STEAM COME OUT MY EARS, have Uriel focus on the fact that they're just going to gather up 1241 souls to heaven when they destroy the town, so it's really for the best, and he doesn't see why everyone's getting so hung up on the life of the imperfect mortal world--at that point Castiel's appreciation of mortal life and the material world makes him contrastingly more human, and good in a more limited human way, while Uriel is good in a rigidly orthodox way, so everything is the same except you're, you know, not demonizing the black guy and allowing two 'good' characters to disagree) and ... yeah, he didn't do any of that.

On the bright side: I AM TOTALLY READY FOR SOME DEAN/CASTIEL NOW.
