Little tiny obsessions
So in between the large-scale obsessions (Nslash, Buffy, Due South...) I have the little ones, too. Like, y'know. Gas prices.
Doesn't anybody other than me find this fascinating? I'm kind of oversupplied with possibilities at the moment - I pass four gas stations on the way two work, another two on the way into town, and there are easily a dozen, anytime I drive down to Meijer or the bank or anywhere further. A couple of days ago, both gas stations on the south side of the main drag here were at 1.79, and both stations on the north side were 1.70, including the one that's usually the most expensive of the four by a five-cent margin. At midday, one of the two south-side stations was still at 1.79, both north side stations were down to 1.69, and the other south side station was at 1.65. They're all within a half-mile of each other, straddling a freeway exit and a nightmarishly busy intersection. The interaction of traffic patterns and competitive (or not) pricing is just... c'mon, doesn't anybody else follow this stuff?
Also: Superman songs. I'm compiling a list of songs about Superman. So far I've got six.

2. Crash Test Dummies - The Superman Song (featured in the DS Pilot)
3. Five for Fighting - Superman
4. Three Doors Down - Kryptonite ('If I go crazy then will you still call me Superman...')
5. Spin Doctors - Jimmy Olsen's Blues ('Hey Lois Lane you don't need no Superman...')
6. Okay, I could've sworn I had a sixth one, but now I can't remember what is was.
