Dear Yuleperson

As it turns out, I find I have very little to say other than that I am DELIGHTED that you share one of my tiny fandoms, and please by all means remember optional details are optional and write what makes you happy. As a general rule I adore cuddles and hurt/comfort that is heavy on the comfort. If you were writing Wonderstruck or Feed Jake and wanted to delve into the way the particular time period/place impacts the characters' relationships, I really dig that sort of thing. (And, obviously, if you are writing Shaun and George or anyone involved in I Love You Phillip Morris, I'd love to see how THEIR milieus are affecting them, but I assume that would be pretty difficult to avoid touching on unless you are writing nothing but cuddles in a dark room, and for the record I am totally okay with cuddles in a dark room. Or characters doing their laundry.)

If you are feeling particularly stumped and looking to pick up a different fandom I requested, Feed Jake is the easiest, with 4 and a half minutes of canon: here's the music video on YouTube. (ETA: or download it here, if YouTube doesn't come through for you or you just want a copy of your own to keep forever and ever.) And, for good measure, here's Russell Smith of the the Dallas Morning News being fascinated by the homoerotic subtext. In 1991. I think I have seriously been wanting fic about this music video since 1991, even before I knew what fic was or why I wanted to smoosh those two boys together.

If you are feeling particularly stumped and looking to pick up a different fandom and cannot cope with early 90s country music and maybe you have a Jim Carrey allergy or an embarrassment squick or some other reason not to go for I Love You Phillip Morris, Wonderstruck by Brian Selznick is a pretty quick afternoon's read--it's 600+ pages but half of those are pictures, which makes it go pretty fast. It's a rather expensive hardcover, but public libraries all over this one, so if you have one handy you should be able to pick it up. I'd really love anything that gives me more story about Ben and Jamie going forward.

Anyway, apologies for not having more to say--hopefully my original prompts pointed you in the general direction, and you have not been feeling totally lost in the dark. Thank you in advance, Yuletider, and have fun! ♥

Newsflesh Trilogy - Mira Grant; Shaun Mason, Georgia Mason

I would love any exploration of Shaun and George's relationship--sex is absolutely welcome, but I'd love to see more of them being them, whether when they were younger, during Feed, during Deadline, or extrapolating forward. Cuddles are always good. For Shaun-and-George values of cuddling.

I Love You Phillip Morris (2009); Steven Russell, Phillip Morris, Debbie Russell

I don't actually require you to fit all three characters into one story, but I'd love fic about any of them, or any two of them! Debbie's such an interesting figure in the movie--I am fascinated by her relationship with Steven, and I'd love to see her and Phillip meet and bond over the whole Steven Experience in their lives. I'd also love fic about Phillip and/or Steven post-movie--that smile on Steven's face at the end could launch EPICS, I think. Maybe that's just me. And also, naturally, I would love love love MORE of Steven and Phillip's relationship whether in or out of prison, whether something sexy or just further exploration of the weird, weird way that romance works for them.

Feed Jake - Pirates of the Mississippi (Music Video); Narrator, Chris

I want to know what the hell is going on here! Were Narrator and Chris in love as teenagers? Were they still in love? Did one of them break the other's heart, whether romantically or platonically? What happened to Chris, and why is Narrator the only person who can take responsibility for Jake now that he's gone? What drove Narrator to leave town in the first place? Why did Chris stay?

Wonderstruck - Brian Selznick; Jamie, Ben Wilson

I really want to see Jamie and Ben's relationship go on as they grow up and, as you may have guessed, I would love it if they went from friends to boyfriends a few summers on from the end of the book. But anything about how they carry on a friendship across the obstacles in front of them would delight me!
