Captain America: The Winter Soldier fic: Collar and Tag Him

So, here's the thing.

Tuesday morning I read verity's boomerang and then emailed her and said "how much are you going to hate me if I write the companion story that's all about Bucky?" and she said that would be great, I should do that, so I spent most of Tuesday writing Catch, which is, in large part, about how Bucky watches Animal Planet because he identifies with the animals. Particularly the dogs.

So, uh, then I had to write the kinkfic remix of my own fic, set in a much different universe? So that's what I spent yesterday on, and today, fic! With much thanks to verity for beta as well as kicking off this thing where I wrote 7,000 words of fic in two days, to minoanmiss for assuring me that sometimes you just have to write the puppyplay threesome and get it over with, and iulia for, uh, owning a dog and loving me anyway after I wrote this.

Story title is, as it turns out, not from the Guys & Dolls song "Marry the Man Today" because I have been mishearing that lyric for twenty years. ("Counterattack him" doesn't even make sense, though.)

Ha! minoanmiss mentioned when I was about halfway through that her mental image of Bucky through the story kept flickering back and forth between Sebastian Stan and an actual dog, so when I got to the last third I was like PLEASE TRY REALLY HARD TO ONLY PICTURE SEB STAN NOW OKAY.

I don't think we've been mishearing the line from that song. I think the Internet is in a massive conspiracy--or, not even, really, since lyric sites mostly crib from other lyric sites, so it's probably just one stupid mistake replicated over and over again. Because "counterattack him" doesn't make sense. I intend to pursue this investigation during my next shift at the Art desk.
