My requests:
Political Animals, TJ Hammond.
My request (and my OTP in this fandom) is TJ/Happiness or TJ/Being Okay, really. I don't think any of the canon characters are especially conducive to that, but feel free to convince me otherwise--I'd love to see him being genuinely happy and healthy with any of his family around. (No TJ/Sean, though, please! I think that relationship is definitively unhealthy and Not Okay At All.)
I'd be delighted to see TJ in a genuinely healthy romantic relationship with an OMC or crossover character, or TJ getting good advice or therapy, or TJ having a supportive friend, or just TJ finding some peace and happiness on his own.
The Goblin Emperor - Katherine Addison, Maia Drazhar, Csevet Aisava, Cala Athamaza, Deret Beshelar
Embarrassing confession: I've only read the book once and don't have it handy, so I'm not sure if I've nominated exactly the characters I'm thinking of. In any case, you needn't include all four--I really just want Maia and his team/family/friends, whichever part of that you want to focus on. Maia and Csevet--Csevet is the messenger/secretary, right?--are probably my favorite friendship in there but any of them are fine.
Anyway: I love the process of watching Maia assemble a group of loyal people around him, and I'd love more of that--Maia and his nieces and nephew would also be a favorite choice, or Maia and his grandfather, or Maia and his future empress! I'd love to see what passes for domesticity for Maia now, the private moments when he gets to (comparatively) let his hair down a little. Does the emperor ever go off to a summer place to relax? Can Maia start that tradition, if it isn't one? And I'd love to see his relationships develop with his inner circle as he convinces them that they can be his friends as well as his guards and so on. More Maia and people who love Maia, basically!
The Martian - Andy Weir, Mark Watney.
MARK IS SO GREAT, RIGHT?
I would love to read about anything Mark didn't put into his mission logs! There's lots of time he spent on Mars that he didn't document moment by moment, so I'd love to read about Mark being scared or sad and how he consoled himself, or what kind of solo sex life Mark was carrying on, or just another little bit of Mark being ineffably, hilariously Mark.
Or if you want to carry forward from where the novel ended, I'd love to see how Mark readjusts to being among people again (especially if he finds himself kind of overwhelmed by humans and needs a lot of alone time even though he's so glad not to actually be alone anymore), both on the ship home and back on Earth. That can't be an easy re-entry, and I'd love to see some of that.
The Secret Garden - Frances Hodgson Burnett, Mary Lennox, Colin Craven, Dickon Sowerby.
I OT3 this trio with all my soul, so I just want to see the three of them together--I'm happy with anything from continuing to be cross-class besties to chaste first kisses in the Garden to sexy shenanigans to navigating a long-term triad relationship. Dickon and Colin navigating questions of sexual identity in a period-appropriate way and/or Colin being a fan of Edward Carpenter a plus! Also DICKON DOES NOT DIE IN THE WAR. (Also I personally headcanon that Colin is a conscientious objector/pacifist but feel free to do your own thing if you're addressing the war, just as long as Dickon comes home safely from it.)
What's Your Number? RPF, Chris Evans, Anna Faris, Chris Pratt.
Based almost entirely on the end of this interview and the general fannish perception of Chris Evans as a woobie with anxiety issues, I just really want fic about Anna Faris and Chris Pratt looking after him, whether as a friend or in a poly relationship (<3 <3 <3). Definitely no cheating or breakups, I just want the three of them together being goofs or being in love or whatever!
I don't particularly know anything about the real lives of these actors, so if you read their wikipedia articles and poke around tumblr and youtube for half an hour you know as much about them as I do, which is probably plenty for these purposes!
Oxford Time Travel Universe - Connie Willis, Polly Churchill, James Dunworthy.
What I would really, really love to see is a story set after All Clear, about how these characters cope with the aftermath of everything that has happened and pick up their lives again on the other side. Feel free to focus on one character or the other, or on the two of them going through it together. I can go either way on Polly's relationship with Colin (super romantic, but they don't actually know each other, do they?) so feel free to deal with that or not as you prefer. (Uh, please don't pair Polly and Mr Dunworthy romantically, though, I would find that upsetting.)
If you'd rather write about their adventures during or before Blackout/All Clear, that would be great, too! I'd love to get a better feel for Polly's various projects and how that looked to her, and I adore Mr Dunworthy and would love anything about him, especially about his feelings about this generation of young historians who he's become a mentor/father figure for, after his own reckless youthful explorations. Basically I love these characters and I will love anything you want to write about either or both of them!
