dira | Happy thoughts for Friday morning:

1. The Library has decided that they have enough money to fund "mid-year salary adjustments" for their lowest-paid staffers, of which I am one. The amount of the raise is, I think, technically classified as "better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick."

2. After nearly two weeks spent bonding with the pipes and my upstairs neighbors' subfloor during showers, there is no longer a giant, heat-sucking hole in my bathroom ceiling, and I live in hope that the new ceiling will get sanded and painted in a similarly timely fashion.

3. NHL-NHLPA labor talks are continuing.

4. Speaking of which, isn't Canada cool?

5. I don't know if I mentioned this, but I have a shiny new website. It is shiny. And new. And nothing on it is purple (not that purple things on your website aren't a valid lifestyle choice, it's just not what I personally am into).

6. I'm spending this year's holiday party with
