So, I got back to my apartment at four-thirty, having been driven and flown and ridden the subway and then driven some more (by the all-too-kind
strangecobwebs). I was ridiculously happy just to step into my apartment's bare little living room and feel the air-conditioning on my face, to set my computer down at my desk and plug it in.
So of course, within a half an hour, a thunderstorm had rolled in and my power was out.
I curled up in bed for a couple of hours (I needed a nap anyway!) and waited for it to come back on, but eventually it didn't, and lunch was receding into my distant past, so I called
strangecobwebs, and she kindly invited me to come mooch her electricity (and internets). So I am more or less back to civilization--I've been barely skimming my flist in the hour a day I've had internet access, so if I've missed anything I shouldn't, drop me a comment!
