intermittent actual-life update
I am sort of running around frantically trying to get ready for the week to come - with regular breaks for being paralyzed by inability to prioritize - and it occurs to me that I haven't said anything about what's going on with me, and that maybe it might be appropriate to mention some things, so:
Today: running about like chicken with head cut off, until it's mercifully time to go watch TV with
riverlight and
embracepassion.
Tomorrow: go to work, fly up to Wisconsin after work, drive down to
iuliamentis's place to spend the night.
Tuesday: drive back up to Wisconsin for four-hour in-person job interview following on from phone interview a couple of weeks ago; fly back down to DC, getting in at 10:30, so hopefully arriving home before midnight.
Wednesday: pack car, drive (approx. nine hours) to Michigan to spend several days with family at remote location with intermittent internet access.
Thursday: Michigan, family, intermittent internet access.
Friday: Michigan, family, intermittent internet access. Fireworks.
Saturday: Michigan, family, intermittent internet access. Probably not watching Doctor Who, unless the intermittent internet access proves fast and reliable enough to commune with the magical internet fairies.
Sunday: drive back to DC.
Monday: go to work and try to deal with the fallout of not being there all week.
None of this should affect the Missing Persons posting schedule (which is MWF this week) by more than a few hours one way or another, but obviously the possibility of something going anywhere from Mildly to Horribly Wrong is somewhat higher than when I'm staying quietly at home.
Regardless of the outcome of the job interview, I've given notice at my current job (last day July 25) to coincide with the end of my current lease (July 31), and I should be departing the DC area on or about July 26. So if anybody wants to think good thoughts in the direction of this job panning out and me generally not needing to spend an extended period of time living in my parents' basement at the age of twenty-six with a Masters degree, I would surely appreciate it.
