After a hiatus of ... a while, I just resumed my Stargate SG-1 rewatch with ep 4x09, "Scorched Earth" (the one with the Enkarans and the alien terraforming and Lotan!) and promptly found myself flailing my hands at the screen in pure team-y delight. OH SHOW. ILU. ♥

that's really one of the most interesting episodes, i think. yes OH TEAM.

Yes! Genuine moral dilemma, genuine dissent among sympathetic people, but the contrast of Sam under military authority versus Daniel feeling free to hare off and make himself a hostage--and Jack, oh Jack.

yes! the writers of that one really mined the character-based conflict. and i've watched it a million times and the solution to the mystery is so obvious in hindsight and it still makes tears come to my eyes every time when they realize lotan has found THE ORIGINAL PLANET OMG.

i love the team in this one. i love daniel's misdirection, sam's clenched jaw, just everything.

yay.

and it spawned some really terrific angsty epilogs in fanfic.

Oh, man, I know--it's been ages since I've seen this, so I'd forgotten how exactly they solved it, and when they found the homeworld I was all *FLAIL* and choked up. ♥
