ummm.
Last night I was fretting a little about whether I would have my Southland fic ready to post before S2 starts (at which point, given the slightest provocation, I expect to become an ardent John/Cesar shipper).
Tonight, googling to figure out what @Cudlitz was talking about, I discovered that Southland's S2 premiere has suddenly been pushed back by four weeks, to Oct. 23.
I don't know whether to be bummed or worried for my show or terrified of my own powers.
In any case, that gives everybody who might want to catch the first season before jumping into the second an extra four weeks to check it out! It's a mere seven episodes, and four of them are on Hulu!
PS Do you think there's some way I can leverage this to make the next Vorkosigan book come out sooner?

It's a big ensemble cast, uniform officers and detectives in the LAPD--last season it focused mostly on two of the cops and four of the detectives, with others in secondary roles.
One of the cops is canonically gay. The other is a rich kid getting trained up straight out of the academy. The detectives are also awesome but John Cooper and Ben Sherman are kind of where my heart is with this show. Uh, mostly.
The show also does a fair amount with the personal lives of all the characters--one detective's wife is in most of the episodes, as their marriage is on the rocks and there is perpetual drama between them, and the others all feature to various extents (including John sharing a beer with his, ahem, friend, Cesar, in the last ep of the season). Everyone is awesome in their own ways, except for the one dude who you want to hit in the face with a brick, but he gets his comeuppance by the end.
This is my favorite 72 seconds of the show so far: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BX8ukHpNSu8

And that's a challenge, because not only am I rewatching Dr. Who, and hoping to watch The Wire and Battlestar Galactica (as soon as they come from Netflix) but I also now want to watch this, and Burn Notice (which Nina got me into) and that new Paul Gross show, and Generation Kill. Which, um, is a lot of TV for me! Especially with school.
My life, so hard! *g*
