Gender will soon be a mandatory field for new LJ accounts, and gender options will be limited to male or female.

ETA: This code change has been rolled back and will not take effect.

Now we just hope that they actually fix said bug, rather than just insisting to users that they shouldn't be worried about it, and we'll be all set. As much as we ever are... *g*
