a couple of things

1) So I just wound up at IMDB watching the trailer for Life As We Know It, in which people who don't like each other inherit joint custody of their mutual godchild, and my thoughts were:

a) Will there be applesauce?

b) BRB PLOTTING THIS OUT AS AN AU AND/OR KIDFIC FOR EVERY FANDOM EVER.

2) Last night I ranted to [personal profile] iulia for ten solid minutes about how much I hated Red Mars and wanted everyone in the book to die and why was I even reading it anyway (I'm reading it for the terraforming, building things and growing things are my bulletproof kinks in books) and would she please promise me that everyone in the book was already dead in the sequel (she refused to so promise) and oh God I hate EVERYONE WHY WON'T THEY DIE.

Anyway, I picked it up this morning, because as much as I hate the book I can't let it win, and now I am forty pages from the end and having this sinking feeling I am going to pick up Green Mars as soon as I'm done with it because dammit it went and got interesting again.

That is an awesome prompt! I would read that over and over for different fandoms.

(It also occurs to me that if something were to happen to JJ and Will, god forbid, we would at least get to see Reid and Garcia trying to raise a baby together, which would be amazing.)

I completely agree with you about the characters in Red Mars, but when I got to Blue Mars I forgave them everything because the new generations of Mars-borns were just SO IRRITATING. I liked Green Mars much better than Red Mars but I couldn't finish Blue Mars.
