I suddenly feel like fandom has come full circle, though--back in the day, when LJ was brand new and Brad was still running the whole thing out of his basement or whatever, too many people posting fic on the same day could and did crash LJ.
...Possibly this just means that LJ has always been sort of crap?
Piling on dorothy1901's bandwagon, I am so tired of LJ being the slowest and least reliable site I use regularly. About every page I visit I have to refresh two or three times before it will load completely, or it just stalls.
"The Fangirls Came to Boston, and spring followed in their footsteps, the crocus bloomed in the light of their laughter. The Fangirls Stood Up to Boogie Down, and the stomp of their stilettos cracked the casing of LJ..."

I imagine it as a sort of Old English epic:
"The Fangirls Came to Boston, and spring followed in their footsteps, the crocus bloomed in the light of their laughter.
The Fangirls Stood Up to Boogie Down, and the stomp of their stilettos cracked the casing of LJ..."
