you kids and your new-fangled social network things

So if I make a Tumblr account thing, can I... like... make a friends list of Tumblrs I like? Is that how this works?

It's all about the Dashboard. You click the follow button on blogs you like, and they show up on your dash!

A cool way to find tumblrs you will like on specific subjects is to search the tags people put on their posts, you will quite often find that there are quite a few blogs devoted to very specific subjects!

Example: http://www.tumblr.com/tagged/lord+of+the+rings

Also it is very helpful to find someone who is already really into the things you like and just follow a lot of the blogs they are reblogging/following.

Obvious things to say, but hey when you join a whole new site things are WEIRD and STRANGE.
