1) After long consideration I have concluded that in the wolf-verse instead of being called Fruity Rudy, when Rudy gets all worked up about the Old Ways the guys are prone to call him Hrotholfr. Naturally.


2) I just realized that the obvious name-smush for Nate/Brad is FILBERT. :D


3) The less said about the amount of time I spent today studying the flora, fauna, terrain, weather, and prevailing winds of certain desert areas of California, the better.

The obvious name-smush for Brad/Ray is Bray. Which, obviously, leads to a pairing name of Donkeycock.

Also, I am beaming daffily at the prospect of more wolf-verse.

For you:

It was essentially a dry run for their possible-probable upcoming deployment, with slightly less logistical support than Nate expected for the real thing: all the men had had STD screens in advance of the inevitable, as Godfather phrased it, high spirits of the occasion. All the wolves had had their physicals. (Ray had come out of Navi's mockingly wide-eyed. "Guys! She's pregnant! How the fuck did that happen?" Navi, as she had for two solid weeks by then, just looked smug.)

Can I say (belatedly) that it is entirely down to you that I've actually read Companion to Wolves and The Tempering of Men. I have mixed feelings about the books (I do love the language) but I just wanted to say thank you! And I'm really, really looking forward to reading more of your Gen Kill mashup(which is more enjoyable in a lot of ways *g*)
