all i need is for you to tell me it is ok. Because. Yes.
I try not to talk about work, because it would mostly just be me whining, because, well, I stock shelves on third shift, right? Last night I was shooting UPC labels for boxes in top-stock (shelved ~10 feet above the ground, which means that's where I was to do the labels). In order to avoid moving/opening all the boxes, I figured out how to derive the 12-digit item UPC code from the 14-digit one on the outside of the box (drop first three digits, replace with '0', next ten digits same, last digit add or subtract five or subtract two).
Have I mentioned I have a thing about heights? Not heights, really. Edges. Yeah. So when I'm up walking around *on* *top* of the shelves, which are maybe two feet wide apiece and full of boxes, so there's about eight inches to walk on ... I didn't freak out, but I did move very carefully.
We didn't get enough done last night, so tonight's going to be a crunch to get ready, and I have to go in Saturday to work on the actual inventory.
This is why I don't talk about work here. This is also why I applied for two more library jobs today.
