Except that I just picked up "One Bullet Away" and am really thrilled by it! I volunteer to drool over the first half (third?) of the new fic!

(What IS it with this universe? I'm not usually this obsessive about my media, but GK has eaten my brain. I blame your baby Linus.)

I love One Bullet Away a lot--if you read "You Just Brace and You Breathe", that is pure and complete OBA-fic, and, yes, you will also enjoy the first half of the next one. :)

You're RIGHT, look at that! If you squint, you can see Afghanistan. (Not that it requires that much squinting, but I was a little distracted by Brad's tattoo* and didn't ask myself why they were on board a ship. I'm a Navy brat; there's always a ship.)

One Bullet Away has an odd time placement for me; I discovered it right after finding out about RL!Fick's speech at the 2008 Dem Convention and reading his think-tank bio. So even though it's young Nate, his voice sounds awfully jaded.

*I'll love you for an extra forever if you can tell me whether the tat is miniseries canon or RL canon. If I'm gonna be obsessed, I may as well be precise about it.

Yeah, I got to One Bullet Away after seeing the miniseries (and lots of fic) so I read that and then Evan's book in fairly rapid succession. But I already kind of had Stark Sands in my head as Nate when I read Nate's book..
