Although I did get to read Jeffery Farnol's Great Britain at War, which was a collection of his contemporary accounts of the war effort as a journalist, and fascinating on multiple levels. Anyway:

Dude, I was all resigned to actually having to read Maurice (I did see the movie! And read the Wikipedia article about the book! I just am not super excited about reading the book) and then I realized that I could READ ABOUT THE REAL-LIFE VERSION INSTEAD. I am pretty excited to read about Carpenter, and happily it looks like his writings that are relevant to my purposes are in the public domain now and available online. :D
