Entirely unrelatedly, I just went to my local SF book group for the first time in months, and they are great, and it was great, and now I am home with a gin drink that didn't really need that second dollop of gin, and also a big bunch of green grapes, so things are going really pretty well around here.

Ahahaha, no, not quite! :)

Last night we were discussing Ann Leckie's Ancillary Justice, which was sort of mind-bending hard science fiction that was also Doing A Thing With Gender, which was fascinating.

Have you thought about writing Ancillary Justice fusion AU fic? I can't stop thinking about Steve and/or Bucky and/or Natasha as segments. I feel like there's a strong implication that ancillaries are asexual. It's also clear they have all the feelings. IDK. (Not many of my friends have read it so I have no one to flail with.)

Huh, no, that hadn't occurred to me--and I don't know how writing any of them as segments would work, since it would entail first writing them as ship AIs and then separating segments from them? But in any case, no, I thought AJ was good, but I didn't really engage with it in a wanting-to-write-fic way at all.

Clearly you will have to blaze that trail. :)
