This week in writing, 10/28
So, uh. This week I DID start writing Venom fic. O____O
I wrote over 11,000 words of fic this week, which is more fic than I’ve written in one week since the summer of 2015, a halcyon time when I had a day job and hardly ever had to think about politics at all. So. Thanks, Venom?
Words written this week: 11,787
WIPs that got words this week:
There Is No Shortage of Blood: 952, and I have… almost figured out what happens next to bridge to the big thing I’m trying to get to? ALMOST. Starting to suspect that the big thing IS going to span the two chapters I allotted it in the chapter count, since I’m 2400 words into the chapter and haven’t gotten started on it yet…
Born in the Blood: 291, introducing a new character! Or at least one who hasn’t been present on-page so far in this story. :D
Slavefic #6: 1,029, many of them about a certain someone’s genitals…
Underage Child Soldier Omega!Bucky/Alpha!Cap!Steve Marriage of Last Resort Fic: 385
Cold Hands, Warm Heart: 1,245 (Technically never a WIP because I wrote it in about 45 minutes on Monday morning.)
Aide-Memoire: 7,312 (Thanks, Wikipedia article on Transient Global Amnesia.)
Dira Defies A Fledgling Fic Trope in Venom Fandom: 573, altogether too many of them spent accurately describing how Eddie makes coffee in the morning which is in no way relevant to the fic trope in question, but I did spend an hour screencapping to figure out how Eddie makes coffee SO OBVIOUSLY I NEEDED TO INCLUDE THAT?

1) More Born in the Blood yay!
2) which fledgeling fiction trope? (I have. your story to read. I love its premise)
Also, cheering you on!

well, in THIS instance (I... may have more contrarian fic bunnies lined up) it's the trope where Eddie realizes that he will never have total privacy again and just decides that he will therefore never... jerk off... again? And tries valiantly to resist and then gives in and winds up, of course, having wild and crazy tentacle sex. So I'm writing a story where Eddie is like OH HEY I HAVE MY VERY OWN SLIGHTLY SCORNFUL VOYEUR-DOM BUILT IN NOW LET'S GO and Venom is like "...whatever lights your rockets, ridiculous human."

I kew I adore you for a reason. :) Seriously, I love your next-level thinking, and this is a great example.

I love how the third time Eddie and Venom join, in the fight on the bridge, it's 100% mutual, Eddie reaching out for him. It struck me as very Biblical.
