2019 Fic Year in Review

Scope note: I am including the WIPs I’ve posted to AO3 this year, and will also include them in future Years in Review for years in which new chapters are posted. Stories posted for Yuletide 2019 are included in this post.

In 2019 I posted 16 complete stories and added the concluding chapters to two ongoing WIPs, for a total of over 200,000 words of fic posted in four fandoms. That is more stories but fewer total words than 2018, but a pretty average year--almost exactly the average word count for all years of fic writing 2003-2021.

I actually wrote about 228,000 words of fic in 2019, with the unposted surplus mostly going to yet-incomplete fic as of the end of 2019.

lol i had to do a triple take when i got the notif in my inbox about this post and then it took me awhile to see you backdated it (I did not know dw sent notifs for backdated new entries, but now i do!)

The Mountain Goats and Matthew Goode do have amazing inspiration for fic titles, ♥ ♥ ♥

and honestly this just made me realize that i was subscribed to notifications for your dreamwidth but NOT your AO3. so I only knew of your Sandman fic because I happened to see it on twitter, and I only knew you had posted your Ciri story because of tumblr. now rectifying this by subscribing to your AO3 properly.

I think it didn't occur to me because I don't really use subscriptions on DW, I so firmly associate them with AO3 (though now I am imagining how fun it would be to have a reading page on AO3 where you get a feed of your subscribed authors/wips/series, since that's what I always use on DW...)

Anyway, hi! I have been posting kind of a lot of Sandman fic--I don't think it's all even made it to twitter, so if you subscribe to me on AO3 you'll be seeing more of that! :D
