And since this is my livejournal and I can be a dork if I want to, I'll tell you that the title is from T.S. Eliot's "Little Gidding," which I have been in love with since hunting it down (it's also the source of the quote on my icon).
We die with the dying:
See, they depart, and we go with them.
We are born with the dead:
See, they return, and bring us with them.
But that doesn't have nearly as much to do with the fic as it could. Good poem, though.
