dira | insult and injury

So I'm home from the con, and I'm in con-withdrawal without all my discourse buddies around to actually physically follow around, but I'm thinking, okay, there's chat, and LJ, and, hey! You need to write your con report before you forget everything!

Halfway through my con report, my computer crashes, but, okay. Get back on #discourse, resume hanging out (or, well, squealing all over each other and hugging in purple text almost as much as we did in person) and then the DSL goes down. And stays down, despite my many restarts and redials and offers of animal sacrifice. I was like a sad, sad junkie who couldn't get her fix.

But I did get 1600 words done on the hockey AU while trying to distract myself (all in one scene, which still isn't finished - I should stop deluding myself that anything about this story is going to be short...), so I guess the night wasn't a total wash.

Which is not to say I didn't have fun squeeing with

iuliamentis over the zines I brought home (what is it about the line, "Ray, I apologize on behalf of Canada. And I'm running out of change." that makes me squee in a range only audible to dogs?). She even listened while I went on and on about the Joe/Blair thing.

Okay. Will attempt to report on the actual con from work, but I have to thank

heuradys for getting me to the airport in time for my flight home, because, yes. Thanks again, H!
