1) The Red Wings are one! win! away! from taking home the Stanley Cup! (Literally: guys on the winning team each get to take it home with them for a day over the summer, it's kind of awesome.)
The Detroit Free Press decided to illustrate this fact, in part, with this image, which was uncaptioned on the article where I first saw it, just... hanging out there.
Okay, and two more, from the Detroit News, where captions assure me that these are both images of teammates celebrating goals by Nick Lidstrom and Jiri Hudler, respectively, and not
Lidstrom asking somebody who's got the rings for Rafalski and Datsyuk's on-ice wedding...
Hudler clinging to his jealously possessive boyfriend Kronwall for protection from teammates Stuart and McCarty.

kalpurna happened to mention Norway the other night, to which I automatically replied, "Forget Norway! Kenya, come to Kenya..." Poor K had no idea what I was talking to, so I was compelled to dig up the Kenya flash cartoon which took over the collective brain of my apartment in 2004 or so and, clearly, still continues to have an effect. And then I watched it altogether too many times (warning: it loops) and felt just as happy as ever to see it.
3) Torchwood fic of doom has cracked 20,000 words, and I'm almost at the really fun part! Which should not be read as a euphemism for porn, as this story has in fact given its word to stop at third. Possibly first, actually. Mmmm, fade to black...
