It was always after, when Uncle Jack left again and nobody seemed to know when he'd return next, that he thought maybe it would be better if things were different. They should move to Beta Colony and they could all three get married and be happy.
And it would make Aunt Alys would be happy, because she seemed to always be angry at Uncle Jack for being a bad influence on his cousin, Ivan.
