I'm just saying.
Recently I noticed that, slasher though I am, I am really kind of a sucker for the canon het pairing: Mulder/Scully, John/Aeryn, Josh/Donna, every bandom guy/his current wife or girlfriend, Spock/Uhura, and so on.
So here I was watching Varg Veum (oh, come on, you knew it was coming around to that, didn't you?) and it took me until the third movie to realize that ...the canon het pairing I was gleefully shipping the hell out of was apparently...
Not actually canon?
I can't really see any way to interpret the events of Din Til Doden as anything other than "they're platonic with a heavy, heavy dose of UST and yet Varg is totally prepared to turn his life upside down for a long term relationship and yet he and Anna are not married and having babies yet for some reason" but I also can't really interpret the end of Bitre Blomster as anything other than "and then they went back to her place and fucked, like a lot." I mean, hello, two bottles of wine + near death experiences = sexytimes and true love, fanfic has taught me this!
I mean, I guess they could have just decided the next morning to never speak of it again, but...
DAMMIT, VARG/ANNA OTP. theirloveissoraspberryhatwearing!
ahem.
This is what drives people to write fic, isn't it? Oh God. /o\
And let's just not even talk about Hamre telling Varg he looks good in cuffs/zipping up his coat/ruffling his hair/sitting and drinking with him when he's sad/telling him he's actually not completely useless/etc. Because I can't so much talk about it as I just flail my hands wildly.
PS Look, there's a tag now! I believe that this now means that if you are reading me on Dreamwidth, you can selectively filter out all my posts about Norwegian crime movies. \o?

Give me some nonspoilery reactions about what you've seen, yeah?

Varg is a former social worker from child welfare, now working as a PI. He's good at his job in the way where he figures things out, but he's really bad at ... almost everything relating to violence. He doesn't carry a gun. He's concerned for the children in any given situation. He pukes at murder scenes sometimes and gets hit on the head a lot.
The level of gore in the vid is ... really concentrated. Those are scenes from probably all six movies, crammed into a minute or so. It's really not worse than anything you'd see on American TV, except that they tend to be willing to pan a bit further down bodies.
So, you know, I recommend them if you're into that sort of thing. :)

Well, if you meant the shiny reading filters, those are not live yet (next code push).

Why does this never work out in my life? I ask you! *g*
I'm looking forward to starting the movies!

Do you know if Bitre Blomster is available (subtitled) on Netflix? If not, someplace else I might have access to?
