Dira's Advanced Stages of Shiny New Fandom:

[Optional Step 6. Deathfic. Patrick Jane is asking for it, look at the way he's... look at the way he is.]
7. Sex pollen. Lots of sex pollen.
8. Amnesia.
9. Age regression.
10. Inadvisable late-night trips to IMDB, tracking down of actor's other work.

Which is to say I totally did not just watch the first episode of The Guardian. At all.

7. Yay! I have a fondness for this trope.
8. Wow, that would be heartbreaking. That's if it was Jane that got amnesia, though. All that stuff he wouldn't have to remember? Or worse, if it was just the past few years he'd forgotten, so he thought he was still married, still a father...

Yeah, I am so gone on Patrick Jane that it's not even occurring to me to do this stuff to other characters yet. Jane with amnesia would be so happy and relaxed until all the crushing trauma came back!

And, oh, full on actual "Patrick Jane is suddenly in a six year old body!" age regression. (I mean, I would do "Patrick Jane is suddenly back to being completely his six-year-old self in every way" except he would be a hazard to himself and everyone around him trying to escape from the clutches of his team.) Mind you, everyone involved spends a certain amount of time trying to figure out how to verify that they haven't just been hypnotized to THINK Jane is suddenly pint-sized, but they eventually move past that hurdle.

My icon is oddly appropriate to this fandom

With the added fact that we know that Lisbon had three younger brothers she took care of a lot, was possibly even the primary actual care-giver (especially since her father was alcoholic and abusive and her mother hasn't warranted a mention yet), and I'm betting she'd have some pretty ingrained habits kicking in.

With an added note that she already lets him take naps in class at work.

You could always have him amnesiac and a six-year old, of course. Get you fannish tropes in there with maximum efficiency.

I think, actually, that at some point this season it's mentioned that Lisbon's mother died when she was twelve--so, yeah, she was the de facto parent for her younger brothers and, by virtue of that and probably also by virtue of the fact that even when Jane is (nominally) an adult she already treats him like her wayward baby brother, she winds up doing a lot of the Tiny!Jane wrangling. :)

And, well, combining amnesia and age regression just gets you right back to Jane being a terrible hazard to himself and everyone around him, so those two are probably just unmixy.

Oh, yeah--I mean, it's not like I'm writing these all out fully or anything, just sending a lot of capslocky emails about them. WAIT WAIT AND THEN LISBON CUDDLES HIM!!1! and so on. *g*
