My Doctor Who 5x12 Reaction Post

Live (well, live on the morning after) from Con.Txt, here is my reaction:

A) The morning after, I have mostly regained feeling in my fingers.

B) If ever there was an episode I wanted to have [personal profile] iulia and [personal profile] ellen_fremedon clutching my hands through, THAT WAS IT. HOLY SHIT.

And now I need to go rewatch THE ENTIRE SEASON because people at the con tell me there are maybe two Doctors running around? And and and EVERYTHING CAME BACK SO HOLY SHIT. EVERYTHING IS RELEVANT.

EVERYONE LIVES. Please, Moff? One more time?

C) Craig and Sophie are totally going to come back and save the world due to Craig's headbutt Doctor-knowledge and/or the Doctor holding the keys to their home. EVERYTHING THAT IS REMEMBERED CAN BE BROUGHT BACK. CRAIG REMEMBERS THE DOCTOR. QED.

I APPROVE OF THESE HYPOTHETICAL CRAIG-AND-SOPHIE-SAVE-THE-WORLD SHENANIGANS.

Of course I am also excited about tiny Amelia saving the world, but I would LOVE TO HAVE BOTH.

Also that scene in the Angels episode where the doctor tells Amy to remember what he said when she was nine, "What did you tell me." "It doesn't matter, just remember." and he's wearing his coat even though he'd lost it?

That episode. Rory making me want to cry all over again. And then later, all over again. And then also later. And I'd suspected that the Doctor was the one in the pandorica because it sounded like him -I'd wondered if maybe River had been the one to trap him in there, if that's what she'd done that she couldn't tell him about yet- but then when it turned out to be empty, to be waiting for him!

Incidentally, I'd put "You can be the person you want to be, even if that person isn't technically real." as one of Moffat's themes, something we've seen him do twice this season with robots, but also with actual people.

The other thing with Moffat is that, wow, he knows how to play the long game and not just in the big season long thing, but in the details.

It was completely made of brilliant, wasn't it! I loved every second and I love Moffat for knitting the season together like that! And man, was Mat Smith brilliant in the scene where they locked him up!
