Okay, the internets. You were right.

I had a sudden and somewhat unusual impulse tonight to stop resisting watching things everyone is telling me I will love, so I finally watched MCR's Danger Days trailer (oh boys) and now I am half an hour into the first episode/movie/unit of Sherlock.

Yyyyyeah, so I was hooked inside the first two and a half minutes. &Watson;

Please feel free to offer advice on where on earth one starts, with the fic. I confess myself a little daunted. Also, I know there have been awesome vids and I only saved a link to Lim's "Dry," so recs for those are also appreciated.

And now, somebody seems to be in peril, so I shall get back to watching.

(♥&Watson;♥)

(Awww, Sherlock, you're not really a psychopath, are you? You're just ... Sherlock Holmes. ♥)

IDK where to find the fic, but whenever I see anyone is watching Sherlock for the first time, I like to edge in with the following caution: the first episode is excellent, and the third is quite charming, but the middle one ... is uncomfortably imperialist and Orientalist, and both John and Sherlock's characterizations are somewhat different than they are in the other two episodes. I am not saying you should not see all three! I just wish I had been warned, because I loved the first episode so, and the second one was so many intersections of Do Not Want for me.

I hope you enjoy your foray into the fandom, though!

Oh man, this is so true. I was deeply disappointed with the second ep, but fortunately the third was a vast improvement.

This. The second one discouraged me from watching the third for several weeks. The first and third are SO MUCH better.

The second was, notably, the only episode not written by one of the co-creators (Moffatt and Gatiss), but by some other dude.
