And in a totally unrelated development, tonight's work on my SG-1 bigbang story has taught me this valuable lesson:

Any time you think that you can simplify a story by sending Jack O'Neill to Narnia, even just for a few minutes, you should probably look down and identify the very narrow ledge you have wandered out onto, and then you should move expeditiously back to the nearest window and get the hell inside. Because, in fact, no. No you can't.

Jack and Narnia, no. Really no. Jack and Sam and Narnia, even more no. Teal'c isn't even in contention.

However...Daniel and Narnia? hmm.

Well, Narnia was just somewhere to stash Jack for a few minutes. He didn't even need to realize it was Narnia.

Daniel, on the other hand, would have wandered into Narnia and never been seen again until his team went in hot to extract him. *g*

no, wait! Jack in Narnia works amazingly well as a fusion (i.e. SG-1 instead of the Pevensie children)....

I need to see Jack meeting Aslan...no, really, truly, I'd love to (and of course, Teal'c meeting Aslan would be *amazing*). And of course, Sam and Daniel's different takes on the Narnian talking animals would be brilliant. And who would be the fusion version of the White Witch? and who would be beguiled by her?..... ::chin in hands::

surely, if anyone, *you* could make this magic?

I, sorry, I fell and broke my brain on Generation Kill in the last few weeks and now all fusions in my brain are, by default, with Bravo Company's Second Platoon. RECON MARINES IN NARNIA! :D

(Also, of course, I want to send the recon Marines who invaded Iraq to Atlantis so they can experience a whole different kind of clusterfuck on the part of command....)
