...has anybody ever read A Fire Upon the Deep? And liked it? I'm anticipating (re)reading it soon, and I want some kind of reason to believe that I won't hate it this time.
I read it. I'd like to tell you that it is awesome, but I can't. However, I can tell you I bounced off it like I was entirely made of superball material at LEAST four times, despite loving a lot of Vinge's other stuff. But eventually I forced myself into it, and once I was in, I managed to stay in get to the end, and certain parts of it still stay with me, so - it wasn't terrible or anything.
