SPY GAME! I love so much that you follow Cap 2 with Spy Game, because I've been thinking about those two films together, too (I guess mostly because dominant Robert Redford = NGH) and also Spy Game is the most perfect love story ever.

YES. And when he beats Bucky, I feel this echo of all the consensual D/s and painplay I'm sure went down between Nathan and Tom, except it's the abusive non-con version and it kills me. That cross-feed between fandoms drives me up the wall with twisted hotness, though.

Sadly I suspect Steve and Sam are going to need more than Dinner Out to bring Bucky home.

Also, this happened today:

Bucky stopped in front of a table with half-mannequins displayed on top of it, which put the crotches right at eye level. Each one was wearing panties in some soft pastel, cut to allow for a bulge between the legs.

Bucky just stared until he realized that the fascination he was feeling wasn't distant at all, and then he reached out with his right hand, touching his fingers to the edge of the silky pink fabric. It was surprisingly soft, so smooth it felt almost liquid under his fingers.

He jerked his hand back and spun around when he realized the salesman was approaching. The young man pasted on a bland smile and didn't back away. Instead he said, "Hi, I'm Jason. Can I help you find something in your size?"

Bucky laughed, a rusty startled burst of sound.

IN CONCLUSION, BUCKY HOLDING A SMALL CHILD.

I MIGHT have some crazy headcanon where "on the hunt for Bucky" Steve has a one night stand and gets some woman pregnant (I did say crazy right?) and BUCKY is the one who finds out (cause, of course he knows what Steve does while looking for him???!!!) and when the kid seems to be in danger (cause somebody (not Steve) finds out he steps in and helps raise the kid (who has of course inherited the super powers). Optional elements: Mommy is a doctor who goes on to research serum stuff and actually gets some good results. Mommy ALSO gets the superpowers (because if they can be passed by sperm (genetically, or super-mitochondria where even 1 is enough???) then I can handwave something like: Baby start producing some factor in their blood that can pass through the placenta. Anyways there are some ideas I'm not sure about, about how the serum only works for people who have some (really small is enough) amount of Asgardian blood (cause we'll pretend they did it like the Greek gods and there's actually a good number of humans around who have some) and the exact reaction will depend upon which god(s) and also the persons personality (because Asgardian gods are kinda people but also archetypes).
But mostly Bucky teaches new Mom to control her abilities and they do serum research and kick ass when somebody tries to come after them and kidlet is strong and smart and THEN Steve finds them (or they decide to find Steve, and maybe the research is relevant to Bruce, because whatever).
And I did mention the crazy right?

I mean, most of that is really no crazier than anything else in Marvel canon. I'm mostly stuck on the idea of Steve having a one-night stand. ;)
