Teen Wolf underage hookerfic: Sell Your Body to the Night
At long last!
Many thanks to Lynnmonster for beta, to oaknfell for advice on San Francisco which I have nonetheless probably managed to mess up in inventive ways, to Rubynye for cheering this on, and to everyone who's been encouraging this for the last two and a half years (TWO AND A HALF YEARS YOU GUYS), especially my local Nanowrimo contingent who were blithely accepting of the person writing pornographic Teen Wolf fic in their midst.
The Sexual Assault tag/warning is for a specific (not Derek/Stiles) incident in Chapter 5. A more detailed description is in the end notes. (That said, Stiles is 16 and Derek is 21-22, which means every single sex act in this story both on-screen and off is statutory rape and consent is problematic in an overarching way throughout, but all the actual sex on-screen between Derek and Stiles is had with Stiles's affirmative, if fiscally negotiated, consent.)
Story title is of course from "Roxanne." Punkin Chunkin is available on YouTube and should be a part of everyone's Thanksgiving traditions, and track #8 on My Chemical Romance's first album is called "Early Sunsets Over Monroeville." This story takes place before Season 1 of Teen Wolf in a somewhat calendrically confused mashup of 2010 and 2011, but at least there is only one full moon every 29 days.
Oh God, you guys, it's finished. o.O

"No," he repeated impatiently. "I'm not a cop. I'm someone who wants to exchange my money for your sexual services. I was told you were in that line of work."
"I, uh, yeah, sorry," Stiles said. He glanced around again and then up--the full moon was almost directly overhead. Just one of those nights, maybe. "Yeah, I am. I do that."

I was really impressed at how you skirted the line between 'realistic' and 'skeevy' in the Stiles/Derek relationship. 'Cause let's face it, underage prostitution is inherently pretty skeevy. But Derek, while still displaying all of his kinks, managed to give Stiles as much autonomy and power as he could.
And you even made watersports sexy! I love how Stiles was all "Ohhhh, *werewolf and peeing*! That *totally* makes sense!" :D
Anyway, really enjoyed it!

And thank you, I'm so thrilled that you liked this! It was definitely a very wobbly line to tread, writing this relationship and power dynamic--I ultimately wound up concluding that Derek succeeded pretty well at being kind and respectful, which was what he was aware of needing to be, while utterly failing to be actually ethical or The Responsible Adult in the situation. So I'm glad that worked for you!
And, yesss! Success! :D Werewolves and watersports, seriously, I don't know why it's not a whole genre.

Million times kudos to you.

This brings me to the fact that although I love music, I'm sort of dumb about it too. I keep asking for music recs from social media, but
everyone I ask for suggestions from keeps telling me to listen to the song that the title comes from, and that's not really what I mean.
So I've been listening to MCR, because they are referenced in Chapter 11 and up there ^^ in this post. But what I was hoping for was to maybe pick your brain and see if you had any songs that inspired you while you were writing this, or had songs in mind that might fit the fic in terms of your headspace. (I do realize that your fanwork and the one I'm creating from your words are totally different, but I do find inspiration from authors and their motives and their headcanons etc)
If you dont have any musical wisdom to impart on me, that's cool. But I thought I'd come to the source and see if you might sprinkle me with some inspiration. :)

Alas I don't really have any useful music thoughts for this story--it never developed a playlist of its own (unless you count that one night when I worked on it while listening to 1989 over and over). Oh, but all of The Mountain Goats' Transcendental Youth says Teen Wolf characters to me, plus also their eternal anthem of surviving your teens and doing a lot of stupid things along the way, "This Year." Other than that it's mostly the painfully literal references like "Roxanne" and "November Rain" and of course "Early Sunsets Over Monroeville." :) And maybe also MCR's "Welcome to the Black Parade," although that's a lot more triumphantly survival-focused than Stiles is for most of the story. Also probably simultaneously excessively literal and wildly inappropriate, Tracy Chapman's "Fast Car."
...but other than that, nah, no thoughts to offer, sorry. *g*

BTW. I know it's not right for this, but I can't stop singing that Flight of the Conchords song You Don't Have To Be A Prostitute. Have you ever heard it/watched it?? Superb stuff, yo.

Things that I loved, in no particular order:
The gradual reveal to the reader that yes, Derek and Laura are werewolves, and that Stiles is even slower to catch on.
Derek's requests getting more progressively heartbreaking as we see him fall for Stiles.
The way you kept the reader on tenterhooks about what happened to the sheriff, even as I was going NO NO NO NOT DEAD! NOOOOO! and then OH THANK GOD NOT DEAD, but OH STILES!
How much Stiles needed all the hugs and some good parenting. (You tried, Laura, but...)
LAURA! LAURA LAURA LAURA! Trying so hard to keep Derek going, and support Stiles with her professional experience, AND she got to live and nip that fucker Peter's shenanigans in the bud. (Slight sniff that Scott's still stuck with his asthma, though, and never got to hook up with Allison, and Allison didn't have the opportunity to break free of the Argent poison.)
Stiles segmenting his brain space so hard to keep going, to have it all go boom! in the end. That boy will need some serious therapy. And tons of hugs.
The sheriff being a successful goddamn adult in having contingency plans for Stiles. Of course he did! *smacks Stiles upside the head*
Heather getting to live, and be a friend!
And of course, the scorchingly hot porning going on. DAYUM. You pushed those kink boundaries so smoothly that each new development felt natural and inevitable. AND HOT.
Thank you thank you thank you for persevering in your years-long quest to finish this, even as it was driving you up a wall and around the bend. This is such a gift to the Teen Wolf fandom.
WOW. I mean, WOW.

Thank you! :D :D :D I'm thrilled that you enjoyed it so much! This was actually mostly not such a hard story to write--for most of the time I was working on it was just never Job 1, but when I actually buckled down to it went fast and was mostly a delight. Still, great to know that it was equally delightful to other people! And, aww, I wouldn't worry too much about Scott--there is a pack in town looking to grow, Laura's just going to be a lot more careful and responsible about the process than either Peter or Derek ever were. So if the asthma gets troublesome, Scott will have options. (And I think Allison will too, somewhere down the line--this is just the start of the story in a lot of ways! But Laura and the sheriff will be more than capable of making sure the alpha pack doesn't stick around to cause trouble, so no darach is getting her hands on Heather. Because I said so. :D)
