Updating, semi-furtively, from work.
First off:
Summarizing enormously.
1) Hockey Night in Canada. Don Cherry.
Okay, I've seen him talk before. I've seen Coach's Corner before. And still, let me just say: wtf? It was like he'd never been on TV in his life. "Why is that light on? Are we on the air? What's going on? Stop interrupting me!" Weeeeird.
2) HHoF.
I. Touched. The. Cup.
That is all.
Okay, well, also they need to make their layout just a little more confusing, because I was able to see everything in way too little time, despite approximately a dozen stops to stare at the variably-oriented maps. And please, focus more on the Canadiens. Really.
But mostly... itouchedthecup! photographic evidence and all!
Anyway. Second day on the job, now. Set my background to a picture of Fraser & Ray that makes me smile stupidly every time I look at it (potentially a bad thing...) and have determined that, if I lean to the right, I can see a little bit of sky through the windows on the other side of the room (natural light is for sissies, I guess).
I've now been issued a wastebasket and a key to the supply closet, and have cleared most of the random crap from the surface of my desk. Still haven't had time to look at my three-inch-thick "manual," but my hopes are high. If all else fails, I'll bring it home this weekend.
My job, incidentally, is mind-numbingly boring (so it's a good thing I have net access) and I am looking forward to lunch at T-minus 67 minutes with great anticipation. And not just because I haven't had Wendy's in weeks.
