So, I'm at work, and it's going on one in the morning, so the fluorescent lights are starting to get to me. Just read the first chunk of a really, really long multi-part whacked out Due South AU in which RayK is a slave, and Fraser obtains ownership of him for his own protection (it'd be just like one of those romance novels where the hero just marries the heroine to extract her from some horrible situation, if only the Canadian (as in, hailing-from-a-country-where-they-don't-have-slaves) Fraser wasn't constantly critiquing the quality of slave!ray's behavior...) and now, for some reason, I've got "Feed Jake" by Pirates of the Mississippi stuck in my head.

Feed Jake, he's been a good dog,
And my best friend, right through it all,
If I die before I wake, Feed Jake...

So. This is my karmic punishment for watching hours of CMT as a preadolescent
