My friend boundbyspells, who is new to fic but not, by a long stretch, to writing, has just put up her first bit of Firefly fic, Zodiacal Light. She even listed me as a beta, though I'm pretty sure my critical contribution consisted of "Squee!" so I think she's just being nice. *g*

River gets a wonderful, awful idea, and Mal's caught square in the middle of it.

1) Stevie scored a goal! Sure, it was an empty-netter, but Stevie scored a goal! Back with the Red Wings at age 37 after a knee surgery no pro athelete has ever undergone, intended to let him simply walk without pain, an actual return to hockey totally undreamt of... ten games back, and Stevie has scored a goal!

2) My Due South tapes showed up from amazon.ca! Watched the Pilot today, before going over to #2 brother's apartment to hang with the semi-local extent of the fam (Mom, Dad, brothers #3 and #4), and will watch Mountie on the Bounty later tonight, which means that I can definitively state... Lessee. Got the Fraser/RayK "Snug" photo manip from Theban Band on 13 January 2002. Actually saw an episode of the show, today, 22 March 2003. One year, two months, nine days elapsed time between falling in love with the characters and actually seeing them in action - and that's assuming that I actually watch an ep with RayK in the next four hours. Hunh.

3) Took #4 brother every Bujold book from Cetaganda forward, so he can get on with the reading without being at the mercy of their hick library system or his own jobless-teenager budget.

And everything else, from bombs and helicopter crashes to Ozzie in a Blues uniform... we're not talking about it, okay? Sticking with the good stuff.
