eliade, and then shellmidwife posted a link to this and then I realized I still can't emigrate to Canada and watch from a safe distance while the US goes down in flames, and by that point all I really wanted to do was take a nap.
Went and viewed and applied for a medium-swanky grown-up-style apartment with my best friend and her boyfriend, instead. The leasing agent didn't appear to notice, or mind, that no one of us makes more in a month than the cost of the rent, so hopefully they'll just look at our good credit and assume that we'll manage, and let us sign a lease.
Six days to go til the road trip, and I'm beginning to be worried about my car; must see if I can get a tune-up between now and then. And maybe a trip through a car wash, too.
