Jul. 14th, 2003 04:46 pm1,880.7 miles. Four states and one Canadian province. Seven and a half tanks of gas. Five great lakes, a bay, and a river. Nine bottles of Dasani water. About thirty Penguin mints. Five pieces of Orbit gum. Fourteen highways, I think (94 to 290 to 94 again to 43 to 41 to 37 to 2 to 75, then in Canada 17 to 69 to 400 to QEW to 3 to 24 to QEW again to 403 to 401, and home by 96 to 14 to 23 - okay, so it's eighteen, then). One lost pair of sunglasses. Four showers in communal bathrooms, but no foot diseases so far. Took 76 pictures (at least eight of them of my feet), 38 of which may not come out due to the disposable camera being dropped in Lake Superior. Oops.
Came home with a dozen Kinder Surprise eggs, an assortment of other Cadbury chocolate in various states of meltiness, sixteen rocks from the shore of Green Bay (they're green! and volcanic!), and the obligatory Roots apparel. Oh, and a t-shirt with a Canadian flag in the outline of a polar bear, which caused the nice young lady at the truck stop Tim Horton's in Brantford to ask me if I was from the (ha!) Northwest Territories. And new sunglasses, from the Smoke & Variety on Queen St. in Niagara Falls. And two books, from Indigo, and a badge for my backpack. And also got to meetmboyd and stormheller and an assortment of friends-of-friends whose ljs I don't know. Yet. Am trying to decide whether applying to library school in Toronto would be silly or merely a very good idea.
Am so tired all pronouns have vanished, and when my little brother asked if I had any fun and interesting stories, I drew a complete blank. It wasn't ever boring except in the good way.
