forward momentum! sideways!

Called off work tonight (better things to do, in a big if not entirely fun way) and have gotten some writing done, switching back and forth on my two top projects. Thing 1 is a hair short of 13,000 words and beginning to be within sight of ending, and Thing 2 is up past 25,000, and, er, going to be *really* long, but I knew that going in.
