A correction.
Feb. 13th, 2005 09:55 pmI somehow neglected to include the following in my story notes for Hawks and Hands when first posting:
This story required a great deal of research, and I drew information from a great many sources, which I have attempted to credit where appropriate. The most massively informative--albeit in ways that will not tend to be obvious in the story--was hockeyDB.com, a website which includes major and minor league team rosters and player statistics, draft information, and game by game playoff results. I cannot begin to explain what a delight this website was to me throughout the writing process.
...possibly because most of the delight was of a deeply dorky variety. But it made me happy, and saved me a lot of time that I otherwise would have wasted searching vainly for random hockey minutiae. If it only had included Wayne Gretzky's +/- stats it would have been perfect, and as it is, my love for this website is second only to my passionate attachment to Google. And I just deleted my bookmark for their 95-96 Chicago Blackhawks roster.
