In the continuing ever-so-exciting Adventures of My Interstate Move...
I won my household MacGyvering merit badge this morning by stringing up my shower curtain with a length of cotton rope (which I'd just kept, for years, on the grounds that I might need it at some point) after discovering that I'd thrown out the old shower curtain rings instead of packing them.
My family also set some kind of land-speed record at IKEA this morning: in and out in just under forty minutes with two bookshelves and a matching CD shelf, a candle holder, shower curtain rings, a tiny squirrel for
iuliamentis and a present for my nephew (unless my father was serious about keeping it for himself, but I don't think he was...)
I've discovered what got lost (broken still being an open question, as there's a box of dishes yet to be unpacked): my videotape with Episodes 8-13 of Numb3rs. I think I somehow mixed it up with the blank tape, which got packed instead of thrown away as I thought. And still no sign of the commercial DVD release, to which I say, bother. Or possibly drat.
Possibly it's time for me to reread Komarr.
On the bright side, signs seem to point to the season two premiere of Numb3rs on or about September 9 (and let me just say, tv.com does not hold a goddamn candle to good old tvtome.com, fucking clunky graphics and bad organization and slow loading), even though the stupid CBS website persists in being just as uninformative as humanly possible. So w00t! ish!
